save your turns for the day before Christmas then and pick everything up then..
and for the earlier question, the presents are for both paying members and free members, paying members have a slightly higher chance of finding them thou.
If you open them right away, they will hold.. well. test if you are curious.. but if you wait until 24th or 25th.. they might hold something else :D
