Forgot to mention another thing as well. When i find an item through an adventure i can see the new "Yes! Take it" button. But when I kill something and they drop an item, i only see the old "Yes! Take it" design.
Is this the way it is supposed to be?

I like the new and better adventure button, but it just doesnt look like it fits in the game, i would make the button look like a piece of wood with footsteps on it or like a sword with the text on it.. something like that. You know,.. just too make it more uhm you know., I hope you understand what im trying to say en hope you like my idea

I have to agree that the design of the new adventure buttons and so on doesnt fit into everything else on the page. The purpose behind the enlargement of the buttons might be to lessen the degree of mistakes made while clicking, though it might be a good idea i think it could be done in a more subtle way. I just saw the new changes so i dont have any suggestions at this time, sorry!

Or even better, make the attack button look like a sword or something, and the ANOTHER ADVENTURE button look like a wooden directionarrow with footsteps on it ;-)

I have to disagree. To me the buttons are just annoying and makes each page look messy. Before this update it was much easier to get a quick overlook of each adventure and the appearence of the game was more clean. Any way of letting each player choose whether to use the old style or the new style? .. Besides, doesnt most people use the link in the menu for adventuring?

The new look definitely breaks the page up more. I do not like that aspect of it, but what I do like is that it makes it more obvious what is going on - if you find an item or quest or some such. It reduces the likelihood of accidentally clicking past things.

The font looks okay to me, but to have a big grey button on a white page isnt ideal. Gives the feeling that the page is messed up and withdraws the attention from the rest. For example, its hard to see if an item you found is better than the one you had, because the focus is on the button. Maybe having the page in grey might work out better?

The new ADVENTURE-system is faulty in several ways.
One being the POTIONS you find. "When examining the bottle you see it´s a brown potion with an inscription of the letter"
It just says LETTER but no letter is found...placed it in the bag, then you will see the letter :(

Hi there,
I wouldnt mind when my steps in a maze would be marked. In other words, the steps already explored in a maze could have a little colour difference or a small dot on it.
:-).

Been suggested a million times and I totally agree. It would be a great improvement to dungeons.
The best way to do this would be to add a "fog of war" effect, i.e. unexplored tiles are black, and the tiles next to you become revealed as you explore the place.
|
|
Re:Re:mark explored spots (Posted by: [#8] Egil the Human (Zakarias Persson), dat: 2011-12-13 21:55:00)

Fog of war? as the howl dungeon is hidden, dont we already have that ? would the fog only be on the square infront of you where you have not put your foot down? or?
|

When you really want to make sure you ve hit every square in the dungeon, you have to face this sentence too often: "space already explored".
Well, that is the main point of the argument. Not that it is a big problem. Only annoying sometimes.

So in addition to my suggestion below (the picture): squares that you haven´t actually stepped on could be a little bit darker.
That way we can easily keep track of what tiles we have explored, and which are unexplored.
Edit: Kinda like this: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/819/graveyardwithfogofwar.png/

Hmm okay.. the hard thing would be to make a "good" color as colors differs for every dungeon. we could add a unique color for every dungeon i suppose..

Dont do it if it is too much work. And the colours are different for each dungeon, so you could get really weird colour combinations.
But wouldnt it be possible to have a small dot or even a small footstep in the squares that youve explored?
|
|
Re:Re:Re:Re:Re:Re:mark explored spots (Posted by: [#6878] Princess Fang the Titan [Sworn] (Andreas Foldalake), dat: 2011-12-18 23:20:00)

Wouldnt it be possible to use black for totally unexplored tiles, and use a slightly darker shade of the floor colour for the ones youve seen but not stepped on (unless theyre walls ofc)?
I mean, you already differ between revealed and unrevealed tiles, right? I mean since its only possible to click on the revealed tiles..? Shouldnt it be possible to integrate colour into that somehow? :)

Cant say I see the problem with this, as you dont lose turns when stepping on an earlier explored tile in dungeons...
For time consumations sake, I get it though. But its more fun to leave it as it is. Heck, eventually youll even know how the dungeons look in your head! :)

How necessary things are in this game can always be discussed. I think this would be cool, and W2 needs more cool features :) I thought this would be fairly simple to implement since the game already differs between clickable and not clickable tiles...
I think this feature has a pretty good coolness-to-effort ratio :) And it would make dungeons a lot more user friendly. But of course its up to GM.

Me personally, I find that having all the different colours in it would just make it too colourful. I enjoy the simplicity of it all.

Yes, kinda like in Command & Conquer etc, where the map is black and then its revealed as you explore it.
The dungeons are similar to that, except that the unexplored areas have the same colour as the floor, which makes it hard to see what tiles are explored.
My suggestion is that it should work as it does now, except that unseen tiles are black. Like this:

Summon a creature (Posted by: [#223457] Hero Castaigdon the Human [MOC] (Michel Paas), dat: 2011-11-23 08:32:00)

Hello everyone,
I was thinking that it would be cool when you could acctualy summon a creature to fight for you in a battle. The higher your level the better creature you can summon to fight for you. For example: when you are a low level you can summon a spider or a gigantic chicken, and when you are a very high level you can actually summon a earht elemental to fight beside you for 1 or 2 battles. Offcourse you have to learn some magic first, but there are some mages in this world who can teach you........ what do you think about this GM?

An interesting idea but I have to agree with Oli - flavor-wise it does not quite fit.
It makes a lot more sense in game context to summon the spirits of your ancestors to aid you in battle by augmenting your own prowess.

I feel that the system u currently have (getting turns once a day). I think it would be much better if u came up with a system where u got twice or maybe 4 times a day?
|

Re:Better Turn system (Posted by: [#209006] Elmar the Elf [FOoD] (Kyle Smith), dat: 2011-11-15 22:32:00)

What would be the advantage of this system? The total number of turns per day should not change, so how is getting them spread out better?
If you are sad because you are out of turns then do not worry - as you advance farther in the game you get a whole lot of turns per day. In the meantime if you want more you can always buy more with Tokens.

More logic to quests that you can do again (Posted by: [#219681] Pö the Dwarf [TNTW] (Mika Nikander), dat: 2011-11-15 13:20:00)
|
Hi,
Isnt it possible to make some quests one-time only for each reincarnation? It defies logic, that when youve e.g. went thru the trial quest and gotten special key as a reward... you can still do it again? Once youve done the trial with this reincarnation, it should be done.
Same goes for quests where you need to find a lost wedding ring etc. Youve found it already, so how can it still be there?
Its good that most quests can be done again, but some should not be possible.
|
|
Re:More logic to quests that you can do again (Posted by: [#209006] Elmar the Elf [FOoD] (Kyle Smith), dat: 2011-11-15 22:34:00)
|
|
There are some quests that you can do only once per reincarnation, but they are pretty major quests.
As for all the others, what does logic have to do with it? ;) There are dozens of warriors running around doing the same quests for the same people and killing the same monsters in the same dungeons... it is just a part of the game. :)
