179 Brave Souls! (Posted by: [#17332] Crown Prince Tyrson the Titan [FOG] (Tee Jay Green), dat: 2008-07-02 06:07:00)

For the glory of Walmork and the gods, King Efraim has charged me with a sacred task. I am to take all the warriors who have joined his army under my crown to the far off island outpost and bring peace. All in preparation of building Efraims temple in the land of the heathens, so that all may reap the benefits the gods have gratefully bestowed upon the worthy.
He has already dispatched Royal Guards to the island, but they slaughtered daily by the fearsome adventurers there. No one in the land can match my strength, and I am unmatched in skill and ferocity! Although I leave the magic of my blue runes here in Walmork, they shall fear the Legendary Rune Cleaver of Black Dragons that the Crown Prince has hacked so many beasts and men to bits with.
To death and glory!

Mere minutes ago the news reached me that the great Crown Prince of Walmork, Tyrson, had died in battle at the outpost.
Although his death is truly regrettable, no one can say he didnt fight like a true warrior. He was the strongest Crown Prince Walmork has ever had, and will surely be remembered as such for a long time to come!
I am myself nowhere near his glory and strength, but I have taken it upon me to carry out the will of Walmork as its new Crown Prince from this day forth, until I too shall meet my fate fighting for peace.
I wish for the blessing of the spirits of Crown Princes of old, for now the Crown is mine!

My favorite RP stories were always ones based in the games reality, and this was no exception.
Glad you enjoyed!

Indecision (Posted by: [#17332] Grand Duke Tyrson the Titan [FOG] (Tee Jay Green), dat: 2008-04-25 17:04:00)

On this warm April evening I found myself, as I often do, walking the streets in the city in the clouds. For ages now, I have been searching for power. I do not know why the Gods gave me the overwhelming desire to become stronger then anyone in this world, but they did, and I have to try and fulfill this desire. I must be destined to try and slay some ferocious monster for glory and title, or perhaps to reach heights unknown to anyone by exploring the most dangerous towers that loom above me here amongst the clouds.
For what ever end, I have been searching for the gears to fulfill my desires. In my searches I have left items that men fight and die for, on the ground to rust. Perhaps you think me a fool to leave rune items imbued with the magic of Hemidal or Oden only in my memory and not on my back. Perhaps you think me insane to leave the fiercest rune amulets of the warrior, protector, or of the dragons behind.
Those thoughts have never once crossed my mind... but now Im stuck. I look at my feet now and I see a rune bow pulsing with the magic of Loke, and Im stuck. I cant find it in my heart to just leave this bow behind, but my brain is telling me that the rune longbow of the monster will make me stronger.
Oh cruel gods! Why do you taunt me so!
(Okay... so the loke bow is slightly better (I calculate less then 100 BP more at *Unique*) overall, but the monster longbow will give me nearly 16,000 attack! While the Loke bow puts out a mere 9K attack... What a god damned day! Purposely clicking past a Rune Loke item! AAAAHHHH!!!!)

The god must not like me blaspheming them:
When you sporadically look throughon the ground behind a barn you find some kind of bow just lying there for you to find. It´s a Knights Rune Longbow of Valhall!
Now Ill have passed up a Rune Bow of Loke and Valhall in the same log in! Gah!

By the way, notice the intelligence difference... I had two ** of the monster once, and the -2k int was a real pain in the but when doing dungeons...

That does suck. I took into account the -INT when calculating the BP, which is all Im interested in at the moment... but if I find myself in dungeons often, I can always get some Rune Titan or something in my pack.

INT, STR, and DEX all affect BP. Start building one of them using PP and youll notice very predictable results in your ATT and/or DEF.

Clansman theater: the end of the living souls (Posted by: [#34163] Princess Eazy III the Titan [TFD2] (Stan Beurskens), dat: 2008-03-19 19:05:00)
|
After Fang has spoken it is silent in the hall…. Tyrson his eyes are twinkling, this is what he hoped for, an attack on the clan TFD.
Some of the old warriors of TFD are silent, but there eyes are filled with sadness.. At that moment a large bright star was tinkling in the sky, through the window all the warriors could see the star who brought light into the room. It was still silent. Than finally Eazy looked at his friends, and he walked to the front.
He looked friendly at Fang, and he began to speak, his voice was hard, but full with emotions, when he explained what really has happened.
Warriors of Walmork, as i said before we regret the fact that this great castle is no more, but we had no choice.
Warriors in the room, are mumbling and some of them looked angry at the Eazy.
Eazy, took notice of those looks, but he spoke further.
As some of you know, once in other age, warriors of FWP and TFD fought side by side, in a devastating war against evil. Many warriors have died with honour in that time, and we thought they had deserved a last resting place in Valhall. But something different happened, many of those ancient heroes have been trapped in a spell by an evil wizard, which kept their souls in the ancient plains to create his own army of living death.
Each day; and the voice of eazy was filled with sadness; our friends had to suffer the pain of being dead in a living world, there wounded souls were wandering around with no goal, pleasure or honour.
Eazy continues; in the past years the power of TFD faded away, many of the great warriors died accidentally and they became also trapped by the spell that the evil wizard made in that last war.
The voice of eazy became louder; “ I have seen some of my friends, death, but still alive, you could see the pain in there eyes. “ We couldnt ingore it anymore, thats why we had a secret meeting in our castle Drakenstein, and our wizard Legacy found an old book, where the prophecy of the living death was predicted. In this prophecy also was written that an old man could change the faith of the souls of our friends.
An expedition of five wise warriors of TFD was made and they searched for that old man. Many months have been past, but they finally found him on an island far away in the sea, that man gave them finally some clues to brake the spell of the living death.
Our council of the wise and our wizard have been worked on it, for many days and nights and on the end it seemed that there was only one solution.
Eazy stopped and his face was filled with sadness. And again he said, we had no choice.
Two warriors of TFD walked silently towards Eazy. Dashiva and Binosj, the leaders of the draken knights looked to Tyrson and Fang.
Eazy looked also at Fang and Tyrson; Do you really want to know what has happened... they both hesitated but with a small nodd, they answered.
Eazy continues: After we had found out how we could help them, we realised that this could maybe the end of our clan TFD. But we decided that we needed to combine all the powers to break the spell and give the warriors of TFD and FWP finally their rest they deserve. In order to do that, we made a spell, who would transported the whole castle to valhall. That day in autumn all the powerful warriors of TFD had gathered in the ancient plains, our numbers were fading by the spell and we knew we had only one chance to undo the spell. Together hand in hand we spoke the words of the spell and the sky was filled with lighting bolts and a huge noise rolled from the plains into the castle, we were blinded by the light.
When we could see again, only the ruins of the castle remain of the once great place of FWP and TFD. That day the old man visited and told us that the souls of our friends had finally found their last resting place in Valhall. Slowly he walked away, than he turned around, and looked at each warrior standing in the circle. Than he said quitly; “the time to tell this story has not come yet, my young warriors, the stars will say when the time is right to tell it to the rest of the world. Till that time your clan has to live with this, wars can triggered by this happening, friends can become enemies and your clan will suffer some more casualties. If one of you will tell the story the spell will come back and your friends have to live in eternity as a living soul. Wait for the star, he spook once more when he faded away in the sky. Wait for the star....
Eazy smiles when his finger pointed at the star outside and he laughed, together with the other warriors of TFD, the spell has finally ended....

Gathering at The Clansman Theatre (Posted by: [#6878] Grand Duchess Ultimus Prime the Elf (Andreas Foldalake), dat: 2008-03-19 02:25:00)

Leaders of Sworn - hardened in battle, unmatched in delivering propaganda among clans, wise yet thirsting for knowledge. Venturing up to the highest mountains on the most secret of paths to come even closer to the All-Father is a natural stage in every Sworn leader’s life. Over time it has almost grown into a tradition and warriors of Sworn dont feel abandoned by their leaders, rather are they proud to be given the chance to make their mark on this great legacy. One leader leaves, and another emerges.
Bloodlust, Grimlock, Baal Ksett, Arazil of the Shadows, FarFetched, Totelus and recently also Fang... They have all silently left the Halls of Valtam in a quest beyond understanding of common men, but they still remember and they still care. Both God and raven keep them informed about events in Walmork.
Every once in a while a forum is held in The Clansman Theatre of the Capital of Walmork where clan representatives discuss matters ranging from Nifelheim to Valhalla. Sometimes peacefully, sometimes not so peacefully. Lately, those meetings haven’t been attended by many, but today was different – something had happened and the ravens had been busier than in quite a long time!
A once so great clan had been dissipated.
The Clansman Theatre was crowded. Not only were clan messengers from clans all over Walmork present, but many leaders were there as well, to personally behold and participate. There were happy faces, angry faces and, of course, many troubled faces.
A captain from the Royal Elite Guard force yelled out some orders with an exceptionally male voice. A couple of Royal guards closed the heavy doors to the theatre and the crowd of warriors became silent. The captain marched up on the stage and saluted the clansmen.
Captain: “This will surely be an interesting afternoon and I suspect many of you have something to say today. So let us begin immediately. We expected many of you to request the sceptre, but in fact we have only received one such request. FWP – you may begin.”
The captain then turned to his left, went over to the end of the stage and handed over the Speakers Scepter to Tyrson, a proud leader of FWP, who then approaced the rostrum...
Tyrson: “Most, if not all, of you have already heard of what I have to say. I am sad, yet honoured in a way, to be the one to officially announce it here in the Clan Forum in the Clansman Theatre. This week marked the end of the original Valhallan Knights - a small but elite branch of FWP with more victories in its past than any other clan. Later, during the dark ages of FWP, the clan was abandoned and during the last few years it has been under the command of The Flying Dutchmen, known as their fourth division. In taking VK into its domain, TFD also undertook a great responsibility – a responsibility apparently too big for them! During the plagues TFD’s numbers dropped and they stopped maintaining the base. They failed in guarding the former Valhallan Knights’ castle, left it empty, seemingly with its doors wide open. It now lies in ruins, pillaged by thieves and burnt by barbarians. Nothing remains of TFD4, except for their enemies’ memories. For within TFD it seems to be forgotten since long ago, elst this would have never happened! In honour of the memory of the Valhallan Knights, one of Cloud City’s most skilled artists has created a piece of art that reflects VK’s greatness.”
Tyrson made a friendly gesture to the captain who then pulled a golden rope to open up the red drapery behind Tyrson. A wide, but not very high painting was revealed. It was a panorama picturing VK’s castle from four different angles, each representing separate periods of time – being built during the leftmost one, standing finished as the headquarters of the Valhallan Knights on the second, with a TFD banner on the third, and finally lieing in ruins during the last period.
Tyrson: “FWP sugests that this piece will be hung high on the Wall of Fame in the foyer of this theatre, to commemorate one of the greatest clans in Walmork’s history! Now, what do you have to say about this?”
As expected, only one warrior stood up to wait for Tyrson to let him speak his mind – the grand leader of TFD. “Eazy of TFD.” he said. Eazy remained in front of his seat which probably surprised everyone. Choosing not to go down to the stage indicated that the speaker would not talk for long.
Eazy: “Well, it is a sad story indeed...but I still find it interesting how you could get such a masterpiece of art finished in such a short time! Well done. Do you know the Grand Master Spellcaster in person?” he said with a smile and winked his right eye.
“No, such great achievements require a quite different kind of circle of acquaintances!” yelled an apparently annoyed voice from a shadowy corner next to one of the pillars in the back of the hall. “This is indeed a very sad story. A story that truly brings to light the great failure of the clans of Draken. May you freeze in Nifelheim for this deed and may the giants smash the remaining four of your castles!”
Tyrson: “ORDER! You all know the rules of this forum – obey them or leave.”
Then he was silent. Everyone was silent. Eazy had sat down and no one else stood up. Tyrson had anticipated lots of replies to his expressions of disappointment over this scandalous event, so the silence truly bewildered him. Was it that no one had anything to say in response? Or was it just that no one had expected him to stop talking so soon? After all he was well aware of his reputation of being one of the most talkative men who ever lived in Walmork. In great disappointment he concluded that this subject was too controversial for the smaller clans, and that the greater clans were not interested enough in the fall of a former enemy clan. He looked down on the floor, sighed and said with a dramatic voice: “Let these deeds be scribed on the scrolls of history.” Then he glared at Eazy and continued: “The Valhallan Knights are no more...” He left the rostrum and started waking across the stage to go back to his seat. But just as he was about to step down from the stage someone screamed:
“So the pitiful weaklings of TFD have nothing to say about the loss of Valhallan Knights?! TFD is a disgrace to Walmork! And for that they must be punished!”
It was the same voice again and everyone turned around to see who it was. Out of the shadows stepped a familiar figure - Fang, former leader of Sworn. As he came out in the light warriors everywhere started whispering and this whispering soon turned into a thundering noise. Fang jumped up onto the stage and asked: "Captain, Tyrson, may I?". The captain nodded and looked at Tyrson who smiled as he suddenly saw a friend in one of his arch enemies. Then Tyrson too nodded, handed Fang the Sceptre and pointed an open hand towards the rostrum. Fang bowed to Tyrson and went over to the centre of the stage.
Fang was silent for a few seconds, then he spoke.
"We cannot tolerate ignorance of the extent and nature as displayed by the irresponsible leaders of the Draken clans!
"Clans of Walmork - Sworn may not be your ally, we might even be your enemy. That is simply the state of things, but let us all share one common goal! Let us once and for all rid the world of those who have truly proven themselves UNWORTHY! Let us pursue the hunt until the Houses of Draken lie completely in ruins!
"This is the will of the Gods! I know, for I have spoken to them at the end of Bifröst."
The will of the Gods... Many speakers had uttered these words before, but this was different. Fang carried tangible proof of his godly encounters. His sword, his armour, the crossbow that hung on his back... Only few people in Walmork had ever seen one of the so called Ultimates - weapons and jewellry with tremendous power. Now Fang was armed to his teeth with nothing but Ultimates.
Fang continued:
"The Gods have given me a quest to test my worth, and with it a new name - Ultimus Prime. The acts of TFD enraged the Gods and I was chosen to deliver this message from Odin to the mortals of Walmork. To aid my quest they gave me this equipment blessed with incredible power with which I shall defeat the clans of Draken. However - I have chosen not to channel this great power to singlehandedly annihilate TFD. Instead - take this as proof that my message truly comes from the Gods and let this go down the proper way - with a great clan war against TFD and their allies!
"In the name of fair and proper warfare I will not participate in this war while in possession of this great power. If the Gods allow it, I will resign from the great responsibilities of Ultimus Prime and once again join the ranks of Sworn - as Fang."
Fang then opened his bag and took out a sword. It was not another one of the Ultimates, but the audience still recognised it. It was a Rune Blade carrying the marks of Odin. Fang looked over to where TFD´s representatives were seated, glared at them for a while, then said "Just in case Odin´s message isn´t clear enough already..." - in a ridiculously quick motion he threw the Rune Blade! It stuck in the wall just between Dashiva and Eazy.
This was, of course, strictly against the rules of the forum, but no one tried to stop Fang as he left The Clansman Theatre...

It´s based on a true story. Some of Eazy´s, Tyrson´s abd my lines are actually slightly modified quotes from the clan forum at the time when TFD lost VK.
Sorry it´s a bit long, hope you enjoyed it though.
I wrote this a few months ago, but didn´t finish it. Now, with the revival of W1, I thought it might be a good time for an appearance :)
Bye bye Ultimates. I liked you, you were fun to have :)

That would be awesome! He has said before that if we have ideas for places, and write up all the needed text, he would consider adding them!
Although I think we both know, that if it requires more then a little coding it could take forever to get done (or worse: not get chosen)... so what could we make the clansman Theaters function in the game?
If we get some good ideas here, then writing up the texts would be no problem!

Cool. GM has said he doesn´t want clans to have a big role in-game (ie outside the clanfights etc). We could make it a dungeon where all the squares are free (=don´t affect turns used for playing the "regular" part of the game) that looks like a theatre. That way it becomes possible to walk around in there. If you walk along the walls you´ll look at paintings, old documents and weapons on display.
Would that be too much work?
Another option is to make it a place where alliances are made official? Could be useful especially if the system will ever be upgraded...

I once took 20+ companions level 100+ with me to my next charactre, after reborn. I spend all my pp in charisma. (Just for fun, I played the famous bard, with a huge army of bodyguards).
I thought, who will ever be able to harm me, in the first few worlds, with 3 rows of guards circling around me? But still I was murdered several times. So dont depend on your army too much ;-)

Ive seen followers do some amazing things! Once you get them to 250 strength and have a certain game secret or two, then they do some real damage!
Theyre not best for defense, but offense! Get them really strong and read the logs against strong enemies!

A half days work (Posted by: [#53158] Dream the Titan (Jonatan Melin), dat: 2007-11-17 11:09:00)

Bernard shoved the shovel into the ground. Winter was coming, and the tatoes needed planting before it was too late. The ground was already getting hard.
It was all Rodricks fault. The young sod should have learned too keep a clear distance from them troublesome adventurers. A man who dies in battle is lives again, that was the curse of Gorgon.
The Walmorkers had figured that they could save their dear pennies and leave the village protection in the hands of those incompetent white knights. What they hadn´t thought of, Bernard thought bitterly, was that it´s hard too do a days honest work when you spend half of it lying dead. Rodrick had done just that. Twice.
They argued this morning. Rodrick was heading out for revenge, assembling a bunch of men too punish the adventurers. There were a lot of that going on, Bernard knew, but didn´t Rodrick see that he was needed here!? Didn´t he see that he only made things worse? Bernard sighed. He didn´t, and Bernard was once again working alone.
-Hey Peasant! Why the long face!? Haha, how about I make it shorter!?
Bernard tried too raise his shovel in defence, but it was too late. The axe had already cracked his skull.
The next day Bernard joined the hordes.

Very funny indeed! I often think about how awesome it would be if Zak made some sort of "peasants slayed today" counter. Im sure it would be in the thousands! Offcause, we would need to organize national Bernard slaying day to slay tens of thousands!

The mighty Prince Hrímþursar hears the shouts of the General and is reminded of the angry shouts of children. Normally there is no point in arguing with a child, they are unreasonable little things, but today Hrímþursar had a stone in his boot and is irritated. Prince Hrímþursar decides to give this child a spanking and teach it some respect.
Hoping that the Bone Crushers donate at least 50 gold and XP to the Gods, Hrímþursar sends a challenge to their clan without asking for the help of the Gods. This way they get the maximum bonuses from the Gods and are still put down.

Our Demands for TFD (Posted by: [#17332] Prince Hrímþursar the Titan [FOG] (Tee Jay Green), dat: 2007-09-18 16:59:00)
|
“Those talking about peace are those who feel they have too much to lose.”
Ironic words! It is a known fact that TFD thinks they have much to lose! Even when your ranks are gone and decimated you maintain many fortresses. Perhaps you are hoping to trick the foolish and the dumb, like the peacock tricks it’s predators with its harmless plumage? Walmork is wise to your ways and no one fears an empty castle, even if great machines of war lay within.
Anyone who was traveled through your lands knows their silence. No longer does the laughter of men echo out of your Inns. Yet still, your clan ambassadors go looking for new recruits and they tell stories of bustling markets, crowded Inns, and great prosperity across your lands. The plagues have hit, the men have died, and still you pretend nothing happened!
It is those types of actions that put giants to sleep and turn legendary heroes into nothing more than statues! You claim you are willing to make a stand, but I will only believe it when I see it. In fact… I will make demands right now!
Unless you meet these demands by sundown in 3 days time I will march upon your fortress with the most feared army in the land… The Fallen Order of Galgar. I will lay waste upon Drakenstein. No one will survive.
Demands:
1) The Rangers and Gladiators of your clan are known to be extinct. It has been lifetimes since they were more than simply shadows of dead clans. I demand that you officially abandon your castles in the hills of Gorgon and the wretched underworld.
2) Your clan recruiters and various scrolls across the land make mention of an Inn. An Inn that for ages has lain burned to the ground in a pile of rubble. I demand that you either never mention it again, or suck it up and rebuild your crappy Inn.
3) The historians of your clan routinely fill your parchment, and infinitely more important the parchment of the royal library, with falsehoods. I demand that these historians be slain or tortured for their deeds. Furthermore, I demand that these falsehoods be stricken from the records and accurate accounts of the TFD clans be recorded.
The demands are known. It is your decision that will determine your fate.
(Offgame notes about demands: 1 - Get rid of TFD5 and DRN. At the very least do what I did with HA. Abandon it, but not delete it. 2 - You must remove all mentions TFD-Clan.com, or make it work again! Perhaps a fresh start? A new forum will be easier, faster, and it will look a hell of a lot better then that crappy one you had before. 3 - Completely redo your clan descriptions. They havent been true for years. Update them to reflect reality! Get rid of that stupid song thing and that lame system of Clan1 - Clan6, XP% - XP%. It was bad even before the changes to clans.

Dear old friend, you are as enjoyable to listen to as your demands are preposterious. To think that you put the name of TFD so much down in the mud, to in practice demand us to look at ourselves as false and a long gone relic from the past, that is enough to make the skin boil. And to even show so much incolence as to make demands on what we should do...!
Yes, dear friend, you make my blood boil, and I find my thoughts go to my sheathed sword in a dusty corner of my room. I want to defend the honour of TFD which you so recklessly step upon, as it has given me so much, a life reborn.
And still, I know in my heart many of your accusations have some truth in it. I see the limitations we face in this time and age. Long have our great heroes been gone or forever sleeping below our Castle Drakenstein, and those left feel for naught but drink beer all day long.
This means not that we are but a hollow name, we are like a giant that but needs to be awoken. Like you are trying to do.
I am here. There are someone left at least.
I am here. Sundown has come, but your demands will not be met. You bastard of an old friend.

The time will come again that we will re-united the old forces of TFD. At that time we once more conquer Walmork, evilness will tremble when our great armies will hunt them down and let them burn in hell, where they belong...
the time will come, but when....

An old Titan (Posted by: [#187393] Duke Ferlathin the Titan [TFD6] (Martin Hermansson), dat: 2007-09-06 01:47:00)
|
This evening, when Ferlathin walked the streets of Gorgon Village he met an old titan. The titan looked very tired and exchausted, when Ferlathin approached he only said: "Bring me five green leaves! Please!" As the evil beeing Ferlathin is, he thought for himself: "Hmm, what do I gain of doing that?" Because he knew that finding five green leaves isnt the easiest task. He contined thinking: "Well, perhaps hell give me something special, for such a task!" and said: "Very well, my fellow titan, I will bring you the five leaves!"
The titan started walking towards the black mountain as Ferlathin went to the Swamp to search for the five green berries. After hours and hours of searching, then in the middle of the night, Ferlathin finds his last green leaf, and heads for the Titans Inn in the mountains... When he got there, the old titan was there, astonished by the speed of Ferlathins progress. As Ferlathin handed over the leaves, the titan says: "Well thank you, now Ill go make a potion of these! I hope well never see each other again!" And the Titan ran out of the Inn and disappeared.
Ferlathin got furious. He had wasted so many hours just looking for some stupid leaves, and he didnt even get a "thank you", he now swore for himself that this titan would lie dead before his feet untill the next sunset.
Ferlathin has now set up a wantedposter at the Titans Inn, just to get some attention from those who might have seen him or knows anything about where he might be. Ferlathin patiently waits in the Inn for clues, and he prays that the gods or someone else would help him find the old titan that fooled him...

Ferlathin spend the entire day traveling across the whole world searching for the titan. At last, when he almost had given it up, when he was out walking in the higher parts of the Black Mountains he accidently saw the titan! A few moments later he manaeged to ambush him, the titan barely even resisted.
After killing the the titan Ferlathin took the teleport potion from his belt drank it without hesitation! He now felt weird. Ferlathins whole world started spinning. He felt sick. When he finally opened his eyes he didnt recognize the place one bit.
He understood that he had entered Cloud City...
