Darkness falls (Posted by: [#49884] Hero Haestan the Troll (Henrik Huhtanen), dat: 2006-09-20 15:00:00)

So it has became known that the once great clan of the Lightbringer has fallen into the shadows of the past and noone longer guards the remains of their ruin fortress. After their numbers dwindling, the sudden disappearance of their all-time leader followed by the defection of his second in command sent the clan to its doom. It shall now rest in the history books amongst the other great clans of the past eras where it really belonged.
For now, a dark time awaits, a gap has to be filled or darkness and evil will surely fall once more upon the ruins of galgar.

In memory of a past alliance (Posted by: [#6878] Baron Fang the Dwarf [Sworn] (Andreas Foldalake), dat: 2006-09-22 18:34:00)

Things change. Everyone knows that. Some changes are expected, but others are not. The dissolution of the Soldiers of Lightbringer was definitely not expected, at least not by the Warriors of the All-Father. When the news reached the Halls of Valtam sorrow spread within its walls.
The Soldiers of Lightbringer were our allies.
We fought together in countless battles against the hordes of Draken. The Soldiers of Lightbringer and the Warriors of the All-Father, side by side. Outnumbered but courageous we stared death in the eye together as we endured hard trials in pursuit of our common cause. Two small bands of fearless fighters determined to go to battle to put an end to the acts of madness performed by TFD. If my fellow warrior fell, a brave soldier would be there to cover my back. Haestan, your fellowship might be disbanded, but our memories and eternal gratitude remain.
In honour of our alliance we invite you and all former Soldiers of Lightbringer to our Halls! We have fought and believed together before - now let us do it again! Only this time united as one clan, in the name of Odin!

Darkness falls, but will you? (Posted by: [#17332] Grand Duke Evaristus the Human [FOG] (Tee Jay Green), dat: 2006-09-20 21:49:00)

As a leader of [FOG] it is hard to decide a course of action.
Word has reached [FOG] that [SoL] has abandoned their fortress. The clan is torn on what to do. Some members want to go pillage their abandoned fortress for loot. The rest think we should be feasting in their memory.
Although [FOG] fights evil, we have always done so with evil means… well at least since the Sacred Order of Galgar ceased to exist. The darkest of the Order see only the opportunity to collect more wealth from their fortress. A possibility perhaps to horde some more gold, or get the materials needed to perhaps hit Sworn with some more with our plague catapults. Also it’s just a chance to destroy.
The younger warriors of the Order think a feast in their memory should be arranged and the last to leave the fortress should be invited and honored. They find honor in [SoL]’s fight against evil. Although they see the uselessness of this “good” clan giving evil an honorable death or and any form of compassion. These are only things evil will use against you. To fight evil well, you must be evil.
The dark rangers and I met and have come decided upon this action:
We think perhaps that the soldiers of [SoL] have much in common with the beings of the Order. Their time in the ruins has surely shown then the evil ways of the world. They have seen the never ending slaughter, and been a part of it! Time itself trends towards darkness! Their clan is gone and their fortress in ruins. This is proof that time is in the favor of chaos and destruction!
If we are right about you former warriors of [SoL] then you would still be best at home in the ruins still. Only now with the Fallen Order of Galgar. What say you?
Will you fall from chivalry? Will you fall from compassion? Will you fall from righteousness?
Will you be a fallen warrior of the Order?

Re:Darkness falls, but will you? (Posted by: [#151800] Princess Dårgæn Durus the Titan [FoDm] (John Miller), dat: 2006-09-20 22:42:00)

As the whispering voice has faded into darkness shadows and a night far from moonlit came. Princess Dårgæn Durus had stepped out to kill some evil and came across the ruins as she pryed to the wise gods in the Temple of Doom, her favourite as it was doomed as herself. She found a homeless warrior walking away from the Fort he had lived in and many of his ancestors before him. Along with some warriors she saw Evaristus, leader of the mighty [FOG] standing there trying to call it into Haestan that they would give a perfect place for him. She smiled at the thought and asked the Gods what might happen to Haestan. For being a devoted warrior, a god came down to Durus to give her a blessing and spoke words of wisdom and strength. The moment to ask about other warriors futures had passed without being answered to her. It seemed the Gods had plans for Haestan that warriors would only see as results. After all it`s not the warrior who decides, but the fate that was given to him. Maybe it was not right to know about the fate to come she thought, leaving the Temple. Evaristus was still standing there although the darkness around him was now complete, no light reached the ruins he stood in. Maybe Haestan would stay in the darkness of the Ruins of Galgar, maybe the doomed fate of the old lead him to the Fort Doom? Where there is light the are shadows, but where is darkness the shadows are darkness itself. The Fortress can offer both, fighting all who stand in the way and giving home to those who ask and are asked. Durus found Haestan in the capitol and gave him a note that said one old [SoL] had chosen the path of the Fortress. Maybe they want to fight each other? Or fight at each others side against other warriors who stand in the way of [FoDm]?

The path of an old warrior (Posted by: [#49884] Hero Haestan the Troll (Henrik Huhtanen), dat: 2006-09-22 01:40:00)
|
|
Countless ages had past inside SoL, Haestan knew of no life outside it, being approached by many other clans with offers of solidarity and glory he decided, after much consideration, that as for now, he no longer belonged in a clan. Breaking camp he set out to find the underdark where he should fight evil by himself until the day came when he would once again walk amongst the Ruins. Until then, only the evil creatures of the underdark will see this old warrior, moments before their death.

Malt Assualt - Part 2 (Posted by: [#124444] Prince Glorfindel the Titan [FOG] (Simone Di Conza), dat: 2006-09-15 08:26:00)
|
[Read part 1 below. If nothing else read the last paragraph of part 1]
3. Yup 3. I got my cleaver thru the chest of one peasant and the throat of the one behind him in one swing. Then I kinda picked them both up and stuck the very edge of my cleaver into another one’s skull. Got stuck and I had to kill the rest with my hands and get the cleaver at the end of the fight.
Where was I?
Ah yes, we were just about to spring our trap on Malt. While Weaver was stumbling over getting an answer we moved in and let a full forced attack begin, many of us let loose arrows as others closed in around him with their dragons. Well our first arrows cut the old man up pretty good. Weaver even managed to get a nice slash across the old mans white beard and face. After that... well things stopped going our way after that. You know what?
First thing Malty did was lay his hand on himself and uttered some cursed magical word and *BAM* no more blood, no more skin slashed wide open. The bastard healed himself. Well this put us in a berserker frenzy! We charged him from all sides. Right when I was about to stab him in the face, and Rivfader was about to slash him across the back he defends himself with a damn nut. Yea. You heard right, a damn nut. The prehistoric prick tosses a nut in the air and I feel something at my feet, like the ground was moving. The next thing I see is Rivfader on my blade bleeding all over the place. Malty turned back time and moved! He made me kill Rivfader!
Well the lot of us kept having happenings like this, except Chrille. He was just sitting back smirking watching Malt mop the floor with us. It was like trying to kill a fly with a broadsword on a hot summer day. I’ve never seen an old man move so fast!
Sauron was about to land a solid hit right in the chest when the riddle fairy started laughing. He stole all of Sauron’s experience from him! The poor fool had no idea what to with his cleaver! It was like watching a troll try to shoot a bow! He fumbled around and eventually slashed his own leg open from behind trying to do some fancy ninja crap.
Well once we were all exhausted, injured, or dead, Chrille stepped forward. This is the guy who takes out whole clans by himself! We’re talking the strongest freakin’ warrior to ever walked the land!
“Ok old man! You done me wrong and now it’s time to pay!” Chrille slurred at Malt still drunk from all the whiskey he pounded down at the INN.
He moved in to feel Malt out. A quick slash at the old man was countered by some more nuts. That didn’t seem to slow Chrille down, some how he kept up with it. He even managed to get some decent hits in. Malt took Chrilles experience, but that didn’t matter too much. It seems anyone in a damn near full set of *Unique* Rune Loke gear is unstoppable.
Then it got bad. The old man started chanting. It seems he doesn’t need the book. We watched as Chrille’s gears started to change. Before our very eyes we watched all of his *Unique* gear become crap. Chrille, like the rest of us had been beaten.
This crazy old wander had defeated us with ease… but no wonder…
The Riddleman = Malt = Odin!!!!
From wikipedia: He was said to travel the world as an old man with a staff, one-eyed, grey-bearded, and wearing a wide-brimmed hat, with a blue traveling coat. Odin is said to be a healer.
Close enough for me to believe!

"you should have a better pet.... brrr, idiots", mutters Binosj to himself. He has got advice that he knows is true... For certain things in this world, you need a companion that can breath fire, or can turn enemies into stone instantly.
With a sad look, Binosj looks at his little monkey Poro. "How can I ever replace you, little fella, how can I ever think of leaving you?" Poro makes some squeeky noises and jumps on the shoulder of Binosj.
"No little fellow, I remember getting you from that old pirate, when he challenged me. Weve come this far together, and together, we will sail to the end of the world! I promise! And on the way, Ill teach you how to breath fire..."
Binosj smiles, and Poro... "Hey, get your fingers out of my pocket... Okay, okay, here is a peanut."

This guy comes to me, saying that he will give me something very valuable, if I can provide him with a diamond. After much effort and making loads of money, I could afford to buy me an inferior diamond at the auction house.
The guy was very pleased, saying that now his wife would be satisfied, and give him much pleasure.
In return, he gave me a crate with this huge animal inside. Wow. This animal is certainly capable of something... That I could see...
But nah, I just keep my monkey Poro. What better companion I could wish for. Better to make your enemy laugh than make him turn into stone, I would say :-).

A warrior`s day in Walmork (Posted by: [#153840] Grand Duke Dershac XII, the bald-headed the Titan [Sworn] (Martin S.), dat: 2006-08-18 21:33:00)
|
This morning Dershac woke up early, he knew there was the sun shining in his room at the Halls. He dressed up for breakfast and went down to get some fresh food. As the Halls were among the Mountains the sun was bright and as the clouds hide in the west the east was warm and nice. After short breakfast Dershac went out, going to find some potions to strengthen his body in the morning. Suddenly he saw many men in heavy armour marching towards the Halls, sure they were TFD-warriors.. Drinking a potion which improved the archery skill he drew his bow and released a deadly arrow towards their first man. The arrow hit the head and the man fell on his knees dead. Dershac thanked the gods who blessed the bow and that arrow.
Now the rest of that horde would be warned. Soon the other warriors would come from the Halls to defend them, and there another arrow came flying into the lines of the enemy. Dershac, more specialized in finding stuff than fighting hordes stood back one moment and as three more were killed by swords of Sworn-warriros he marched into the field. His mates looked at him and said `Huh, what are you doing now? Finding some stuff on the slain warriors?` but he let the sword speak. With a quick hack and slash-move two warriors went to the ground, blood draining from the bodies. Impressed the Sworn members continued and even the use of some magic tricks did not extend the life of TFD`s warriros that day, outnumbering they started, dead they ended. After that `morning sport` Dershac went down the mountains to seek some... items.
Arriving at the Harbour of Gorgon he felt a cold breeze, `must be the wind which turned` he thought. He found the place where many ships set sail to sea and more boats went out than man could count. Looking at the deep waters he felt the darkness beneath his feet. Some crazy things will surely hide down there, but will they ever be seen by man? So he set sail to go `cross the seas, sailing west towards the islands beyond the horizon. After many turns he finally found what he was looking for. A book full of secrets that only few had ever seen or heard of.
Many warriors came here to seek that one, but most failed and were forgotten by time. Yes, he would be remembered as one of the very few true warriors who could make that deal. With that great feeling of victory Dershac sat down to read some pages. They started with old stories about those who lived among this land long before the first warrior set foot on this land. Those were intersting stories as they gave him insight into some mysterious things he had seen over some islands like the sounds that can be heard in the far waters in the west or the calls in the wind in the seas towards the north.
After some good reading Dershac felt the missing battles between the morning sports and the coming sun set. Just having sailed and searched for an ancient book he didn`t meet any true opponent. As he wanted to challenge some mighty monsters he had to use a potion a titan gave him the other day. Dershac had a short dream of old and future battles and then he stood indide a house located in the city of the Gods. Turning left and walking down the mainstreet he found a large building, that was supposed to be the place where the Titans of the Gods were fighting those of the Devils. Passing it he called up to the sky and a large beast came down, an ancient dragon. It took him a while but Dershac managed to cut the head off that one and nearly felt sorry that the life of this old creature was over just because he wanted some action...
Leaving the dragon behind he walked on and found an item he had quite some use for. It was carved with runes, so only the highest warriors could even bear it. Carefully he placed it in his backpack, leaving an Evil Soulstar behind. Maybe some other warrior had enough skill to find that small thing on the ground where he dropped it? With the new item in his backpack walking was a little difficult as a shield is a lot larger than a litle soulstone! Sadly that could not be taken care of as a horror from old times wanted to take him down.
But that foe was stupid, a quick look at his pet was enough to silence the opponent. Dershac thought he was lucky having one of those dangerous pets that kill on command... and there were said to support their masters in finding new items as well! Afterwards he went to the INN upon the clouds and met some old warriors. After some drinks they turned out to be warriros of TFD. Without delay Dershac drew his knife and pushed it into the throat of the first. Suddenly the other was gone.. looking around he found that warrior hiding behind the door.
Ready to take him down he stepped forward but that warrior said he had to offer something of great worth that can only be found by him as he had it hidden somewhere. Even with his excellent skill to find hidden items it would have taken a lot more time without help so he agreed on the deal. The warrior lead out of the INN and went across the square in the middle of the city. Going into the small house next to the armory Dershac was surprised that here should be a hidden item he hadn`t discovered yet. So he went on more careful and saw the trap that should have killed him! The warrior of TFD was quite surprised as the trap he had set failed to kill the target.
Without furth motion Dershac pushed the knife into the arm of the man. He screamed but was pushed forward. As both reached the bottom of the house Dershac was quite surprised to see that thing there. He only had heard rumours, something drunk warriors talk about and didn`t believe it would really exist. But there he stood, looking at that item few had heard of and even fewer seen or known. By its size it could not be taken with him as it would be mush to large to fit into any warrior`s backpack. As Dershac now knew the location of it the other man had seen his end coming and took his sword and sacrificed himself. Not as planned, but still Dershac would keep his sworn clean that time. Having found two great things that day he went down again, returning to the people in the mountains, plains and forests.
Going back to the harbour he saw a ship had arrived from foreign land, many men with heavy armour came out and stood there still. A tall man with no hair in face spoke up to the peasants who gathered around them quick. He said the Lord had arrived from other side of sea, it`s time to buid him a house of wood and stone. An man with beard like fire stepped forth and said if god had come from far away he should build his house alone. A man with heavy armour came to silence that man with sword, he said they would kill all who will not help. Many were in fear and started building that house. Where many ships had sail to sea the housse of the god would soon stand and Dershac stood there, unsure to kill the men with heavy armour and the man with no hair in face or wait and see what happens next. As evening came nearer the hordes of working peasants were nearly ready to build that house. As the sun set at the water of Gorgon the bell rang a first time, the house for god was ready. Calling out the sign for their god those men celebrated their great victory.
Dershac looked at the sky and heard the voice of an old raven `people of mine, it has only just begun...`. That seemed to be the sign for Dershac to walk into the crowd, speaking word up high `Oden! Guide our ships, our axes, spears and swords. Guide us through storms that whip, and the brutal wars. Some of us might not survive, but that is nothing to bring us down. Our fate is woven by the Norns and we will serve you well!` Soon the first man with heavy armour came to kill Dershac, but his sword was much too weak. With help of the gods Dershac cut through their lines and peasants flet like mad. Soon the man with no hair in face was alone in the house of the foreign god. Soon he would feel the judge of Oden, one with low remorse. Maybe hewould come to his god, but he would not tell his tale today. With the house burning behind him Dershac set off to sink the ship that brought those man. Entering it he saw great treasures hiden under deck. Taking all gold and stuff he left the ship in the dark, soon it would disappear into the dark waters.

Malt Assault - Part 1 (Posted by: [#124444] Prince Glorfindel the Titan [FOG] (Simone Di Conza), dat: 2006-08-12 06:56:00)
|
I, the dark ranger Glorfindel, was slaying the holiest of creatures one day when I was struck with a vision, a vision of a man standing in green fields, flowers are smelling good here, and the birds are singing."
This infuriated me. How dare this smelly old man named Malt interrupt my adventures! Especially with some farce of reality! Ive seen too many friends die at the blades of enemies to believe in things like green fields, flowers, birds, and Santa Claus! Its all bull shit!
Well this geriatric guide to green pastures had to pay! I headed over to the Fallen Fortress to round up my clansmen to hunt down the riddle asking geezer. Once I had a big enough raiding party, I did what we always do, headed to an INN to get loaded for the raids. Itd been a while since I wet my whistle with some of that fine whiskey the dwarves make, so we headed up to the Dwarven INN.
While we were in the INN I was telling a story where this Mysterious Malt the Malefactor played with me. I was just shy of reaching The Capital, about 15 turns shy, and I ran into Malt and he asked me some crazy riddle as usual. You know what that sunnva bitch did? He turned back time. 14 turns! That bastard was toying with me! Well anyone, some guy in the back who was putting down more whiskies then me started screaming about Malt. Said Malt did him wrong and he had to pay. So this surly warrior joined our raiding party. We later learned he was Prince Chrille!
After a long drunken debate over where this riddle fairy flutters the most, we decided not to go to the hills because the troll women at the Pakt are very scary. That left the forests in Gorgon and the dark forests. Both the Adventurers INN and the Dark Elfs served decent whiskey. Then it was Gelu who reminded us of all those middle aged whinny wanna-bes who beg for a good story in the Adventurers Inn. What a drag after a good raid! So we hopped on our dragons and flew down to the dark forests.
We decided to get Weaver to wander the trail as the rest of us followed him hidden back in the forests to ambush the riddle queen. Well it finally happened up comes the round old man with tiny legs, a silly hat, and his damn riddles. The plan was to attack him right as he was going to change one of Weavers items. We figured with him opening his book to read a spell and screwing around with Weavers gear wed have the best shot of surprising him. Well Weaver couldnt answer the damn riddle. He later told us he was trying to buy us time terrible excuse.
Would you look at that horde of peasants gathering for some fun! Hell yea this is gonna be fun! Im gonna go see how many I can put my cleaver thru at once. Ill be back later to tell ya how our MALT ASSAULT 06 went.

As Duke Dub Buk, the Norse, went across mountain passes he saw a Troll fellow sitting there. Getting nearer troll stood up and complained about stupid human games. He said humans had some big animals, some with long heads and stupid look. They had human staffes and attacked each other with that. Crazy humans. Trolls use real weapons to fight. Dub Buk tried some of those strange things and tried to play with Stornäsa. Dub Buk fell off the animals three times. Maybe Stornäsa had learned how those things work? Dub Buk seemed too trollish. He continued adventuring, killing some humans he met on the path down to the Dark Forest down to the Fortress.

Well being the noble Prince he is, Tyrson decided to do something about this.
Last (full) competition Tyrson entered trying to impress a lady he helped save that day. Well he had one too many and scored a measely 149.
So when he steped up this week there were taunts from the other more experienced archers. This was also the first time the judges would run the competition differently. They made it harder and based more on skill, not luck.
After the mouth breathers simmered down Tyrson drew his bow and pulled back his first arrow and let it fly. 87! They laugh at him. Again. 89 they laugh louder! Tyrson smirks.
92. 92. 96. 97. 99. 99. 99. 99.
I know you SWORN members are asking the person next to you what that adds up to so Ill help you out, 949.
The judges tally everything and the honor, and the 42,000,000 gold go to Tyrson and FWP. SWORN will have to settle for second.
